Hats aren't just accessories. They are storytellers. They are memorabilia.
That Astros cap is the last ballgame with your dad before he passed away.

One of the first hatbands I made was for a wonderful lady who had lost her daughter. She shared some special memories with me and I took the liberty of etching those memories into a hatband...butterflies (her reminder of her daughter), angel wings, eternity symbols, locked hearts, and rays of sunshine.

She told me, when she opened the package I mailed to her, she cried so hard she couldn't drive home.
Hatbands are memories, too.

Just like shoes need shoestrings and a suit needs a tie, a great look needs a great hat and a great hat needs the perfect hatband. I don't just design and create hats and hatbands... I capture special moments. And feelings.
Hopefully, all the good, warm fuzzy ones.

Every hat and hatband I design is crafted with all the feels. They start with puppy love…the never-ending, unconditional devotion of faithful dogs who snore beside me as I work. I'm typically listening to (and singing with) some great music or learning more Spanish or expanding my horizons via a podcast or TED talk as I piece together my versions of art. And I think the good juju shows because every hatband and hat
I design is its own, unique piece.
No one has your fingerprints, so they shouldn’t have your hat.

My bands are made from mostly re-purposed materials.
The planet takes good care of us, so we should return the favor.

Finally, because sharing and giving is important, Rad Hatter of Austin routinely donates to local, charitable causes…causes that support inclusion, children, community, and of course animals. :)
